Pythagorean theorem calculator for Android
Pythagorean Theorem Calculator is an Android app for right triangles. It finds a missing side from the other two, solves one side plus one acute angle, and checks whether three lengths form a right triangle. The work stays on the phone.
What it calculates
- Basic: any two of sides a, b, and c. Side c is the hypotenuse.
- Advanced: one of those sides and angle A or B, with the angle strictly between 0° and 90°. Angle C is 90°.
- Check a Triangle: three sides in any order, with a separate result when the lengths are not a triangle.
- After a solve: steps, angles, area, perimeter, and sine, cosine, and tangent for A or B.
- A Pythagorean triple badge when the sides are whole numbers that fit the theorem, including a note when the triple is a scale of a smaller one.
What it does not do
- It does not solve a general triangle that has no right angle. The check can tell you a triangle is not right. It will not invent the other angles of an acute or obtuse triangle.
- It does not require an account, and it does not request device permissions.
- It does not upload history. Saved triangles and settings, including theme, decimal places, and units, remain in local storage until you clear them or uninstall the app.
The Google Play page for package app.lutex.pythagoreantheorem could not be loaded when this site was written, so store screenshots, ratings, and price are not repeated here. The download link is still that package’s Play details address.
A short path through the app
- Choose Basic or Advanced.
- Enter two sides, or one side and angle A or B.
- Calculate, or tap Solve Triangle in Advanced.
- Read the missing side, the steps, and the measurements. Use Check a Triangle when you already have all three sides.
Units can be none, mm, cm, m, km, in, ft, or yd. Shown decimals can be set from 2 to 6 places.

Questions
Does this Android calculator work offline?
Yes. There is no internet permission in the app. The privacy policy describes what stays on the device.
Can it solve a triangle that is not right?
It can tell you that three sides are not a right triangle, or not a triangle. It does not solve triangles that lack a right angle.
